Oristano Province faces inquiry over revoked management tender
Opposition councilors in the Province of Oristano have filed an inquiry directed at President Paolo Pireddu regarding the sudden revocation of a public competition for a Financial and Human Resources Manager position.
The selection process, which began in early 2026, had already admitted 43 candidates by late March. However, the procedure was halted and subsequently canceled by the administration, citing “unforeseen organizational needs” and the necessity to update the call for applications. The administration claimed the original notice lacked sufficient attitudinal and motivational assessments.
Opposition members contest this justification, arguing that the initial tender already included a competency model, a psychologist on the commission, and oral exams focused on soft skills and managerial attitudes. They further noted that the administration could have simply integrated the notice to include more eligible qualifications without canceling the entire process. The councilors are now seeking to determine if the decision was made independently or if there were external pressures from interested parties to influence the candidate pool.
