Orizaba mechanic killed by falling tourist bus

A mechanic died on Thursday morning in the Unión Obrera neighborhood of Orizaba, Veracruz, after being crushed by a tourist bus. The victim, a man approximately 50 years old known locally as ‘El Jarocho’, was performing maintenance to change a tire when the vehicle reportedly fell.

Witnesses stated the bus was elevated to allow for the mechanical work, but the support system allegedly failed, causing the heavy unit to descend onto the worker. Emergency responders, including Civil Protection and municipal police, confirmed the man had no vital signs upon arrival.

The Regional Prosecutor's Office and forensic services investigated the scene and transferred the body to the Orizaba Semefo for legal procedures and official identification. Authorities are continuing investigations to determine the exact circumstances of the accident and establish potential responsibilities.
