Beşiktaş captain Orkun Kökçü sidelined by foot injury

Beşiktaş captain Orkun Kökçü has sustained an injury during the club’s UEFA Europa League match against Hoffenheim. Medical examinations and MR imaging conducted at Acıbadem Altunizade Hospital revealed a partial plantar fascia tear in his right sole and traumatic separation of the heel fat pad.

Kökçü is expected to be sidelined for approximately two to three weeks. Consequently, he will miss the upcoming critical Süper Lig derby against Trabzonspor.

In response to the injury, manager Vincenzo Italiano is expected to rely on Fabio Miretti to manage the midfield organization. Miretti, who joined Beşiktaş on loan from Juventus, has been identified as the primary candidate to take on increased playmaking responsibilities in the absence of the captain.
