Orland Park gas station robbery attempt ends in shooting

An attempted robbery at a gas station in Orland Park, Illinois, resulted in the suspect being shot after confronting an armed commuter. The incident occurred around 9:00 a.m. local time near 151st Street and Harlem Avenue.

Surveillance footage shows a masked individual approaching a customer and drawing a firearm. The customer, who holds a concealed-carry permit, responded by drawing their own weapon and firing at least two rounds, striking the suspect at least once. The suspect was subsequently transported to a local hospital for treatment of gunshot wounds.

Naseem Elmosa, whose family owns the gas station, expressed shock at the incident, noting that the business had not encountered such issues previously. Orland Park police are currently investigating the shooting. While the identities of the suspect and the armed customer have not been released, authorities stated that the customer is cooperating with the investigation.
