Orlando bar damaged after vehicle crashes into outdoor dining area

A vehicle crashed into the outdoor dining area of The Moderne Bar on Colonial Drive in Orlando, Florida, early Saturday morning. The incident occurred around 4 a.m., causing significant damage to the establishment's patio and custom fencing. The owner, Michael Nguyen, estimated that repairs to the fence alone could cost between $30,000 and $50,000.

No injuries were reported in the crash. A woman named Stephanie Oropeza, who was wearing a banana costume while returning from a Halloween party, gained viral attention for being one of the first people to report the incident to the Orlando Police Department. The restaurant staff dubbed her a “banana hero” and later connected with her to offer a free meal as thanks for her assistance.
