Orlando City trades defender Tahir Reid-Brown to St. Louis City
Orlando City has traded homegrown defender Tahir Reid-Brown to St. Louis City. The deal includes a guaranteed $150,000 in general allocation money (GAM) for Orlando in 2027, with the potential for an additional $300,000 if specific performance-based metrics are achieved.
Orlando City will also retain a sell-on percentage for any future transfer involving the player. Reid-Brown, a 20-year-old Orlando native, joined the Orlando City academy in 2020 and signed his first-team contract as a homegrown player in January 2024. He has made nine appearances across all competitions.
Reid-Brown has represented the United States at various youth levels, including the 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup. St. Louis sporting director Corey Wray noted that the club views Reid-Brown as an exciting addition with a unique profile capable of translating to the MLS level.
