Orlando holiday attractions compete with Branson and Chicago for festive travelers

Orlando's theme parks and resorts are positioning themselves as major holiday destinations for the 2026 festive season, offering a variety of seasonal programming. Major attractions including Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando Resort, SeaWorld Orlando, and LEGOLAND Florida have scheduled events extending from early November into January.

Universal Orlando Resort has announced its holiday season will run from November 14, 2026, to January 3, 2027, featuring events such as Christmas in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and the Universal Holiday Parade. The Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate is also introducing seasonal experiences, including the return of Blitzen's Bar featuring cocktails by mixologist Julie Reiner, and themed Santa's Landing rooms.

These Orlando offerings compete with other American holiday traditions, such as the illuminated Christmas spectacle at Silver Dollar City in Branson and the urban winter markets and public celebrations in Chicago.
