Orlando Magic defeat New York Knicks to secure first season win

The Orlando Magic secured their first victory of the NBA season with a 111-102 road win against the defending champion New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden. Franz Wagner led the comeback, scoring 21 of his 23 points in the fourth quarter after a difficult start where he shot only 1-of-10 from the field. Wagner also contributed 13 rebounds and nine assists.

Despite playing without star forward Paolo Banchero due to an ankle injury, the Magic outscored the Knicks 40-27 in the final period to erase a double-digit deficit. Tristan da Silva added 19 points, including five three-pointers, while Anthony Black contributed 18 points off the bench. The Magic also dealt with the loss of Jalen Suggs to a knee injury during the game.

The loss drops the Knicks to a 0-3 start, making them the first defending NBA champion to begin a season with three consecutive losses since the 2011-12 Dallas Mavericks. Jalen Brunson led New York with 28 points, supported by Karl-Anthony Towns and OG Anunoby, who both scored 22 points.
