Orlando Pirates advance to CAF Champions League group stage

Orlando Pirates have secured their place in the CAF Champions League group stage following a dominant 4-0 victory over Namibian champions African Stars in the second leg of the second preliminary round.

Building on a narrow 1-0 lead from the first leg, the South African side controlled the match from the opening quarter. Thapelo Mokobodi opened the scoring after capitalizing on a cross from Simphiwe Masilela. Evidence Makgopa doubled the lead after receiving a defense-splitting pass from Masilela.

In the second half, substitute Mpho Padime scored his first goal for the club after combining with Makgopa to extend the lead. The emphatic win ensures the Soweto giants progress in the continental competition after failing to reach the group stages last season.
