Orlando Pirates coach discusses player development and tactics

Orlando Pirates head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou has detailed his tactical approach to player development, specifically regarding winger Tshepang Moremi. Moremi has demonstrated significant attacking output this season, scoring seven goals in 11 appearances. Ouaddou emphasized that his coaching philosophy involves analyzing individual player profiles to ensure their natural strengths, such as Moremi’s pace, are integrated into the team’s playing system.

Additionally, Ouaddou addressed the decision to bench Oswin Appollis. Despite Appollis having made 15 appearances and contributing two goals this season, the coach has prioritized players based on current form and experience to meet the specific needs of matches. As Orlando Pirates compete in the Premier Soccer League, Ouaddou noted the importance of balancing the development of young talent with the necessity of fielding a competitive squad to maintain their standing in the league.
