Orlando Pirates face African Stars in CAF Champions League qualifier

CAF Champions League Orlando Pirates African Stars Botswana National Stadium football

Orlando Pirates will face Namibian champions African Stars in the first leg of the CAF Champions League second preliminary round. The match is scheduled to take place at the Botswana National Stadium in Gaborone, as Namibia lacks a stadium that meets CAF requirements.

Orlando Pirates enter the tie following a recent 3-0 victory over TS Galaxy in the Betway Premiership. The South African side is seeking a return to the group stages after being eliminated in the second preliminary round in the previous season. African Stars advanced to this stage after defeating AS Mangasport.

The match will be broadcast live on SABC 2. Orlando Pirates face potential squad challenges, including a late injury test for midfielder Oswin Appollis, who was removed from a recent match on a stretcher.
