Orlando Pirates sweep PSL Awards as Relebohile Mofokeng wins three top honours

Relebohile Mofokeng, the 21‑year‑old striker for Orlando Pirates, captured a rare individual treble at the Premier Soccer League (PSL) Awards, winning Player of the Season, Players’ Player of the Season and Young Player of the Season. His season tally of 11 goals, nine assists in 36 appearances and the league‑leading number of chances created underpinned the Pirates’ Betway Premiership title – their first league crown since 2012 – and a historic domestic treble.

Orlando Pirates also dominated the ceremony with several team awards, while coach Abdeslam Ouaddou was named Best Coach after guiding the club to the championship in his debut season. Other individual honours went to Pirates goalkeeper Sipho Chaine, defender Lebone Seema, midfielder Oswin Appollis and forward Camren Dansin, highlighting a night of broad success for the Buccaneers.

The PSL Awards, held virtually, recognised the club’s resurgence and marked a decisive shift away from Mamelodi Sundowns’ eight‑year dominance.
