Orlando waitress intervenes to report suspected child abuse

Flaviane Carvalho, a server at the Mrs. Potato restaurant in Orlando, Florida, intervened after suspecting an 11-year-old boy was being abused. While serving a table, Carvalho noticed the child had a scratch between his eyes and a bruise on his temple. The boy was also wearing a hoodie, glasses, and a face mask.

Carvalho attempted to communicate with the child using written notes to ask if he needed help. Although the boy initially shook his head no, Carvalho continued her attempts until he eventually nodded yes. Following the boy's confirmation, Carvalho notified the restaurant owner and contacted the police regarding the child's parents.
