ORLEN Charge launches Poland’s first MCS charging infrastructure for heavy transport

ORLEN Charge has launched Poland’s first public Megawatt Charging System (MCS) infrastructure designed specifically for heavy-duty transport. The new charging stations are located at two service areas along the A1 motorway in the Łódź Voivodeship: Stobiecko Szlacheckie East and West.

The infrastructure supports charging power of up to 1.5 MW, allowing heavy vehicles to recharge significantly faster than with standard passenger car technology. This high-power capability is intended to reduce downtime for truck drivers, helping them align charging with mandatory rest periods and long-distance delivery schedules.

According to Krzysztof Kaczyński, Executive Director of Electromobility at ORLEN, this pilot solution aligns with upcoming European charging standards and serves as a step toward sustainable logistics in Poland. The investment aims to provide transport companies with the predictability needed to plan the electrification of their heavy-duty fleets.
