ORLEN Neptun to expand Świnoujście offshore wind terminal in the Baltic Sea

Poland’s first offshore wind installation terminal, the Świnoujście Offshore Terminal, opened in June 2025 and is operated by ORLEN Neptun. After a successful first year serving ORLEN Group projects and external operators such as Ocean Winds and Smulders, the company and the Board of Sea Ports Szczecin & Świnoujście signed a letter of intent to enlarge the facility.

The expansion will increase the terminal’s handling capacity for 15‑MW turbines and heavy‑lift components up to 3,000 tonnes, modernise port infrastructure and boost the share of Polish components in offshore wind projects. It is intended to meet the forecasted surge in offshore wind demand on the Baltic Sea, supporting projects in Poland as well as in neighboring Germany, Sweden and Denmark. Minister of Energy Miłosz Motyka highlighted the development as an investment in Poland’s energy security and economic growth, while ORLEN Neptun President Janusz Bil said the upgrade is a response to the “predicted cumulation of offshore wind projects in the coming years.”
