ORLEN launches 216 MW hybrid solar‑wind farm in Kazimierz Biskupi

Polish energy group ORLEN, through its subsidiary ORLEN New Power, completed the acquisition of a 216 MW hybrid renewable project in the municipality of Kazimierz Biskupi, Greater Poland. The complex will combine a 180 MW photovoltaic farm and a 36 MW wind farm (nine Vestas V136 turbines of 4 MW each) and is expected to generate about 315 GWh of electricity per year – enough to supply roughly 143 000 households.

The project was bought from Polish developers ONDE and Neo Energy Group, which each sold a 50 % stake for a total base price of about PLN 62 million. Both sellers will stay involved: ONDE as the general contractor for the solar and wind farms, and Neo Energy Group as the construction manager. Investor oversight will be provided by Energa Green Development.

Construction is slated to begin in the third quarter of 2026, with the first grid connection anticipated in early 2028 and full commercial operation targeted for the second quarter of 2028. The installation will use a cable‑pooling scheme, sharing a single grid connection between the solar and wind assets, improving infrastructure efficiency. The Kazimierz Biskupi project will join the nearby Kleczew Solar & Wind complex, together forming a 485 MW on‑shore renewable cluster in Poland.

ORLEN President Ireneusz Fąfara highlighted the investment as part of the company’s program to transform Poland’s energy mix, while CFO Tadeusz Zborowski emphasized the value‑creation potential of the hybrid model.
