Orlen reports 1.6 billion PLN asset write-downs

Orlen has announced that it will record asset write-downs totaling 1.6 billion PLN in its consolidated financial statements for the third quarter of 2026. These non-cash adjustments were identified following impairment tests conducted in accordance with international accounting standards (IAS 36).

The write-downs are concentrated in the downstream segment, amounting to 1.6 billion PLN, primarily related to expenditures from the ‘Nowa Chemia’ project which has been underway since 2021. Additionally, the company noted 0.8 billion PLN in write-downs within the energy segment, partially offset by 0.8 billion PLN in reversals of previously recognized write-downs in the upstream and supply segment.

Regarding operational performance for the third quarter of 2026, Orlen reported oil refining volumes of 10.08 million tons, a 1 percent decrease compared to the same period in 2025 but a 10 percent increase over the second quarter of 2026. Retail fuel sales stood at 2.93 million tons, representing a 2 percent decline from the third quarter of 2025.
