ORMAS receives BIRC Global Excellence Award 2026

The Odisha Rural Development and Marketing Society (ORMAS) has been honored with the BIRC Global Excellence Award 2026. The award recognizes the organization for its leadership in rural enterprise, market access, and contributions to the global rice industry.

During the Bharat International Rice Conference (BIRC) 2026 held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, ORMAS CEO Dr. Monica Priyadarshini accepted the award. The organization is currently showcasing 15 traditional rice varieties and products from eight districts of Odisha, representing 85 community-based organizations and 3,695 members.

Operating under the Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Department, ORMAS focuses on connecting farmers and rural producer groups to national and international markets through branding, value addition, and direct market linkages.
