Orán man dies from severe burns following alleged attack

A 34-year-old man, identified as M. A. R., has died in Orán after suffering severe burns to his face, neck, shoulders, chest, and hands. The victim had been in intensive care since September 19 following an incident where he was allegedly doused with alcohol and set on fire after a dispute.

Prosecutor María Soledad Filtrín Cuezzo announced that a 29-year-old woman is currently in custody. She was initially charged with attempted simple homicide, but authorities plan to expand the charges following the victim's death. An autopsy will be conducted by the Forensic Thanatology Service of the Orán Fiscal Investigation Corps to determine the exact circumstances of the death. Investigators are currently reviewing security footage and witness statements.
