Life-sciences and insurance sectors accelerate AI adoption

A study by Rockwell Automation reveals that 90% of life-sciences manufacturers consider digital transformation a business necessity. While 58% have partially or extensively implemented intelligent manufacturing technologies, the industry faces ongoing challenges regarding data utilization and cybersecurity. Companies are increasingly looking toward artificial intelligence, machine learning, process automation, and cybersecurity to drive business results, specifically aiming for quality improvements and risk reduction.

In the insurance sector, the GDV (German Insurance Association) has positioned the industry as a “KI-Branche” (AI industry) during a recent dialogue in Hamburg. The association emphasizes that AI is already accelerating processes, detecting fraud, and managing weather risks. To support this, the GDV is calling for an innovation-friendly legal framework, suggesting that existing regulations like the AI Act, GDPR, and DORA should be evaluated and simplified to facilitate faster deployment of AI applications.
