Oroszlány police arrest teenager linked to international extremist group

Authorities in Oroszlány, Hungary, have apprehended a 14-year-old local youth in connection with the brutal killing of a cat. The incident was reported on September 15 near Haraszthegy. During the investigation, police recovered a knife and a note bearing the inscription ‘764’ at the scene.

The suspect confessed to the crime and stated he joined an online group known as ‘764’ via the Discord messaging application. According to the Komárom-Esztergom County Police Headquarters, 764 is an international, decentralized criminal network composed of violent nihilistic extremists. The group operates primarily through social media and gaming platforms like Minecraft to target and build trust with minors, subsequently using intimate photos or videos to blackmail them.

Police have issued a warning to parents to maintain open communication with their children regarding the hidden risks of the digital world and to encourage them to seek help if they encounter suspicious or threatening behavior online.
