Orquesta Sinfónica de Galicia premieres new Deportivo anthem

The Orquesta Sinfónica de Galicia (OSG) performed a special concert at the María Pita plaza in A Coruña as part of the Classical Week of the local festivities. Directed by Roberto González-Monjas with pianist Javier Perianes, the program focused on Spanish and Galician music, featuring works by Manuel de Falla, such as ‘Noches en los jardines de España’ and ‘El sombrero de tres picos’, as well as pieces by Joaquín Turina and Fernando Buide.

The event included a significant premiere: the symphonic version of ‘Voa’, the new anthem of the football club Real Club Deportivo de A Coruña, composed by Xoel López. During the performance, the orchestra members wore scarves in the team's colors. The concert also featured a rendition of ‘Negra sombra’, an adaptation of a poem by Rosalía de Castro.
