Orquestra Sinfônica Heliópolis performs Mendelssohn concert in São Paulo

On Sunday, 9 August 2026, the Orquestra Sinfônica Heliópolis took the stage at Teatro Baccarelli in Heliópolis, São Paulo, for a concert dedicated to Felix Mendelssohn. The program was conducted by North‑American maestro Ira Levin and featured violin soloist Robinho Carmo, a former Baccarelli student now a member of the Orchestre National de Lyon in France.

The concert opened with Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto in E minor, Op. 64, followed by his Symphony No. 4 in A major, Op. 90 (“Italian”). The event is part of the institute’s 2026 season and highlights the organization’s work in musical education, artistic excellence, and expanding cultural access for the community, which serves around 1,650 students annually.
