Orsara di Puglia to honor distinguished local residents

The municipality of Orsara di Puglia will host the “Vite che ispirano Orsara” (Lives that inspire Orsara) awards ceremony on August 25, 2026, at Palazzo De Gregorio. Mayor Mario Simonelli and Culture Delegate Concetta Terlizzi will present the honors to four local figures who have achieved national or international distinction in various fields.

Among the honorees is Fabio Poppa, a dance champion with Down syndrome who recently won a silver medal in sports dance at the 2026 FIDESM Italian Championships in Rimini. Other recipients include a CEO of a major industrial group, a scientific communicator, and a global ambassador for the Puglia region. The event aims to celebrate individuals whose professional, artistic, and sporting excellence serves as an inspiration to the local community.
