Orsolya Áder addresses allegations regarding state funding and diplomatic passport

Orsolya Áder, a visual artist known by the pseudonym Mulan and daughter of former Hungarian President János Áder, has addressed public scrutiny regarding her professional career and use of official privileges.

In recent interviews, Áder denied allegations that her international art exhibitions were funded by state resources. She maintained that her artistic recognition is based solely on her own work rather than her family background. She noted that she intentionally kept her parentage private during her early years in London to establish her own identity.

Regarding the use of a diplomatic passport, Áder explained that she obtained the document as a family member of the President in accordance with legal provisions. She stated the passport was used primarily to facilitate travel during the Covid-19 pandemic, particularly for planned exhibitions in China, and noted that she surrendered the document once the legal requirements changed following the election.
