Ortahisar Municipality boosts agricultural production at En Mutlu Köy

The En Mutlu Köy settlement, managed by the Ortahisar Municipality under Mayor Ahmet Kaya, has significantly increased its agricultural output through renovated greenhouses. The project serves a dual purpose by integrating individuals with special needs into the workforce while supporting local food security and farmers.

Recent harvest data shows the production of approximately 3,000 bundles of lettuce, 2,500 bundles of parsley, 700 bundles of spinach, and 100 bundles of arugula during the winter-spring period. In the summer season, the facility produced about 2 tons of cucumbers and distributed 250,000 seedlings—including tomato, pepper, and eggplant varieties—to farmers in rural neighborhoods.

Additionally, the facility has expanded into mushroom and poultry production. In 2026, the site harvested 1,400 kg of oyster mushrooms and produced approximately 85,000 eggs between January and August.
