Orthodox Church assemblies held in Corinth and Rethymno

The Metropolis of Corinth held its fourth scheduled Clerical Assembly on October 2, 2026. Presided over by Metropolitan Paulos, the assembly included all clergy of the Metropolis. Following religious services, the assembly addressed administrative, operational, and pastoral issues regarding local parishes. Bishop Agapios of Kechroi provided commentary on the Divine Liturgy, while Metropolitan Paulos offered guidance on meeting modern pastoral needs and the Church's responsibility to support individuals facing contemporary challenges.

In Rethymno, the 4th Scientific Conference on Bioethics of the Ecumenical Patriarchate is currently underway. The conference has been dedicated to Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew in honor of his upcoming 35th anniversary of leadership, beginning October 22, 1991. Proposed by Archbishop Macarius of Australia, the dedication recognizes the Patriarch's contributions to the dialogue between theology and science, environmental protection, and his handling of modern bioethical issues.
