Orthodox Church celebrates Saints Isakije, Dalmat, and Faust
The Orthodox Church celebrates the feast day of the Venerable Isakije, Dalmat, and Faust.
According to religious tradition, Dalmat was originally an officer serving under Emperor Theodosius the Great. After a spiritual awakening, he renounced his worldly status and military rank, taking his son Faust to the outskirts of Constantinople to join the family of Saint Isakije. Both Dalmat and Faust subsequently entered monastic life.
Upon the death of Isakije, Dalmat was appointed as the abbot of the monastery, which eventually became known as the Dalmatine monastery. The saints are remembered for their ascetic lives and spiritual devotion.
