Orthodox Church commemorates early Christian martyrs on June 23 and June 25

On June 23 the Orthodox Church honors Saint Aristocles of Tamassus, a bishop who was martyred during the Diocletianic persecutions, together with Saint Agrippina and Saint Lollia, both revered for their steadfast faith and sacrifice in the early centuries of Christianity.

On June 25 the Church marks the feast of Saint Febronia, a 4th‑century nun who endured torture and execution rather than renounce her faith, and also remembers other early martyrs such as the sibling soldiers and the virgin saints Leonida, Libya and Eutropia. These commemorations continue the tradition of venerating those who suffered for the Christian faith.
