Orthodox Church marks cathedral anniversary and high-level clerical visits

The Orthodox Church is marking several significant religious events and anniversaries. In Bar, Montenegro, the Saint John Vladimir Cathedral is celebrating its tenth anniversary since consecration. Metropolitan Joanikije led evening services to commemorate the milestone, noting that the temple has become a living center for daily liturgy, baptisms, and weddings. The event also featured the presentation of the book ‘Dugo očekivani dan’ (The Long-Awaited Day), which documents the history and collective effort involved in the cathedral’s construction.

In other religious developments, Metropolitan Gavrilo of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church visited the Cetinje Monastery, where he was received by Metropolitan Joanikije and Bishop Pajsije. The visit emphasized historical and spiritual ties between the Bulgarian and Montenegrin churches. Additionally, Patriarch Porfirije of the Serbian Orthodox Church attended the consecration of the Cathedral of the Holy Archangel Gabriel in Pale, an event attended by various high-ranking clergy to celebrate the new place of worship.
