Orthodox Church of Moldova completes seventh annual charity campaign

The Orthodox Church of Moldova has completed the seventh edition of its support campaign, ‘Help a Child Go to School!’, which ran from July 15 to August 31, 2026. Organized by the Synodal Sector for Social Activity and Charity, the initiative aimed to assist children from socially vulnerable families by providing necessary supplies for the upcoming school year.

Over 100 backpacks and sets of school supplies were collected and distributed to children in various localities across the country. The donations, which included toys and other gifts, were delivered by Father Macarie Crudu and members of the ‘Sf. Cuvios Mărturisitor Sofian de la Antim’ youth volunteer group.

In addition to educational support, the Church’s philanthropic efforts extended to medical assistance for families. More than 10 families received medical aid to help those facing health challenges or caring for bedridden individuals.
