Orthodox Festivities Honoring Apostle Paul and Saint Peter Across Greece

From June 28 to 30, 2026, the Holy Metropolitan See of Corinth hosted a series of liturgical, cultural and processional events to celebrate the "PAULEIA 2026" festivities honoring Saint Paul, founder of the local church. The celebrations included a divine liturgy by Metropolitan Paul in the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul, a welcoming ceremony for the Archbishop of Athens, a procession of the holy icon of Apostle Paul through the streets, and an all‑night vigil with chants led by Konstantinos Seitanidis.

On the same evening of June 28, an Orthodox evening service was held in the historic Metropolitan Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul in Veria. The ceremony featured Metropolitan Chrysostomos of Messinia delivering a sermon, and was attended by hierarchs from a range of Orthodox jurisdictions, including Sweden, Alexandria, Antioch, Jerusalem, Serbia, Romania, Bulgaria, Georgia, Albania and Greece. The service concluded with remarks from Archimandrite Dimitrios Baklagis and other clergy.
