Orthodox bishops lead liturgies on the Fourth Sunday after Pentecost

On Sunday, 28 June 2026 – the Fourth Sunday after Pentecost – Orthodox hierarchs in Romania and Moldova celebrated the liturgical feast of the healing of the centurion’s servant. In Suceava and Rădăuţi, Archbishop Calinic of Suceava and Rădăuţi delivered a homily that linked humility and faith to the gospel reading. Bishop Ignatie of Huși presided over the Vesper and Liturgy at the Cathedral of Huși, emphasizing the strength that comes from acknowledging one’s weaknesses. Archbishop Ciprian of Buzău and Vrancea blessed the faithful of the Spătaru parish, highlighting the centurion’s faith as a model of sincere belief. In Chișinău, Metropolitan Vladimir of the Moldovan Orthodox Church celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the “Nașterea Domnului” Cathedral, while Bishop Siluan of Orhei offered the same service at the Curchi Monastery. Archbishop Teodosie of Tomis (Medgidia) also celebrated the feast, bringing relics of Saint Ephrem the New and urging the congregation to experience faith as an intense union with God. Across the services, the clergy repeatedly underscored themes of authentic faith, humility, and divine grace drawn from the Gospel of Matthew (8:5‑13).
