Orthodox marriage traditions and celebrity wedding celebrations

The Serbian Orthodox Church requires a premarital examination for couples intending to marry in the church. This procedure involves a meeting between the future spouses, their parents, and godparents with a priest. The examination serves to verify the freedom of the marriage, ensure there are no canonical impediments such as blood or spiritual kinship, and confirm the candidates' ability to enter a marriage.

Beyond administrative requirements, the meeting provides spiritual and educational guidance. The priest instructs the couple on the sanctity of the marriage community and the foundations of the Orthodox faith.

In a separate event, Ivana Čuljak, a pastry chef and former MasterChef contestant, celebrated her church wedding in Klobuk, Herzegovina. This followed a civil ceremony previously held in Zagreb. The celebration included traditional elements, such as the symbolic breaking of a glass.
