Orthodox Metropolitans conduct religious visits and school blessings

Metropolitan Joanikije of Montenegro and the Littoral visited the Mega Spileo Monastery in Kalavryta, Greece, on September 7. Accompanied by Metropolitan Jeronimos of Kalavryta-Egea, the visit served as a reciprocal gesture following Jeronimos’s recent participation in celebrations at the Ostrog Monastery.

During the visit, Metropolitan Joanikije noted the historical significance of the Mega Spileo Monastery and its connection to ancient Christian traditions. He praised Metropolitan Jeronimos for his long-standing service to the monastery and his current leadership within the Metropolis.

In Serbia, Metropolitan Atanasije of Mileševa led prayer services in Pljevlja to mark the beginning of the new school year. On September 6, a service for the invocation of the Holy Spirit was held at the Church of Saint Petka, followed by a similar service at the Church of Saint George in the Guke settlement. The ceremonies included pastoral addresses to students, parents, and teachers, emphasizing the importance of using knowledge for spiritual and social service.
