Orthodox Metropolitans lead liturgical services in Montenegro and Serbia

On September 13, 2026, high-ranking Orthodox clergy conducted significant liturgical services in Montenegro and Serbia.

In Montenegro, Metropolitan Joanikije of Cetinje and Montenegro served the Holy Hierarchical Liturgy at the Church of St. Archangel Michael near Ljiva Rijeka. The service commemorated the feast of the Translation of the Relics of St. Alexander Nevsky and marked the 30th anniversary of the church's restoration. During his sermon, the Metropolitan emphasized the importance of unity, mutual love, and the legacy of Serbian enlighteners and martyrs.

In Serbia, Metropolitan Atanasije of Mileševa celebrated the Holy Hierarchical Liturgy at the Monastery of the Ascension of Christ in Mileševa. In his pastoral discourse, he focused on the biblical commandment to love God and one's neighbor, citing the lives of saints and martyrs as examples of light and guidance for the world during turbulent times.
