Orthodox priest receives death threats after photo with Thompson

A 56-year-old man, reportedly an Orthodox priest from Ilok, has reported receiving death threats via social media. The Vukovar-Srijem police confirmed they received a criminal complaint on Tuesday and are conducting a criminal investigation into the matter.

The threats allegedly followed the circulation of a photograph on social media showing the man posing with singer Marko Perković Thompson. The photo was taken prior to Thompson’s large-scale humanitarian concert in Vukovar on August 29, an event that drew an estimated crowd of over 100,000 people.

The concert, titled ‘Vukovar, Together for the Future’, was organized to raise funds for the completion of the Salesian Student Home in Zagreb and the ‘I ti si Vukovar’ campaign for the construction of the 12 Croatian Policemen Stadium.
