Orthodox religious leaders preside over services in Greece and Alaska

In Corfu, Greece, Metropolitan Nektarios of Corfu, Paxos and the Diapontian Islands presided over a Divine Liturgy at the Holy Temple of Saint Sophia to honor the Holy Martyrs Sophia and her daughters, Faith, Hope, and Love. During his sermon, the Metropolitan referenced the endurance of early Christians facing persecution and encouraged the faithful to resist modern trends of atheism.

In Anchorage, Alaska, Archbishop Elpidophoros of America led a Great Vespers service at the Greek Orthodox Holy Temple of the Transfiguration of the Savior. The event marked the upcoming consecration of the temple, which serves as the only Greek Orthodox parish in Alaska and the northernmost community of the Archdiocese of America. The parish is noted for its diverse congregation, including Greek, Romanian, and Ukrainian members, maintaining close community ties despite the region's isolation.
