Ortrand homicide leaves two dead and one critically injured

Police in the town of Ortrand in southern Brandenburg discovered the bodies of a 57‑year‑old man and a 45‑year‑old woman inside a side building of a residential property. An 80‑year‑old man was found seriously injured and was taken to hospital for emergency treatment. Authorities suspect a homicide and have activated the local murder commission, forensic technicians and crime‑scene investigators. The police have not disclosed the exact cause of death or whether a firearm was involved, and the investigation remains ongoing.

The incident occurred shortly after 02:30 a.m. on Saturday. The police have sealed the site, taken statements from witnesses and are conducting forensic examinations while the public has not been identified as being at risk.
