Oruam performs first show after Rio court revokes preventive detention

Rapper Oruam, born Mauro Davi dos Santos Nepomuceno, returned to performing on Friday (25) at the Complexo da Penha in Rio de Janeiro's North Zone. This performance follows a unanimous decision by the 8th Criminal Chamber of the Rio de Janeiro Court of Justice (TJRJ) to grant him a habeas corpus, revoking his remaining preventive detention.

The legal decision allows the artist to respond to his criminal proceedings in freedom, though it does not constitute an acquittal. The ongoing case involves allegations of a money laundering structure linked to the Comando Vermelho criminal organization, in which Oruam is a defendant alongside his father, Marcinho VP.

As part of his release, the court has imposed several precautionary measures, including the use of an electronic ankle monitor, monthly appearances in court, and restrictions on leaving the state for more than 30 days without prior authorization.
