Çorum implements urban renewal and cultural heritage projects
Çorum is undergoing several cultural and urban renewal initiatives. Supported by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, the Çorum Municipality has completed the renovation of the Historical City Square and the restoration of the Dikiciler Arastası, a historic marketplace known for its narrow structure.
Additionally, the municipality has released two new books through its Cultural Publications to preserve the city's heritage. ‘Anadolu’da Dört Veli, Dört Tarik’ by Ethem Erkoç explores the lives and thoughts of prominent figures in the Anatolian wisdom tradition, including Mevlana Celaleddin-i Rumi and Hacı Bektaş-ı Veli. The second book, ‘Konakta Geçen Bir Ömür’ by historian Dr. Mahmut Şener, is based on the memoirs of Türkan Alaybeyoğlu and provides insights into the social and daily life of Çorum during the era of the Meclis-i Mebusan and the Grand National Assembly of Turkey.
