Żory and Pleszew host summer tennis tournaments in Poland
On 4 July 2026 the Municipal Sports Center in Żory organized the first summer tennis tournament of the “Lato 2026” action. Thirteen amateur players competed in a round‑robin group stage followed by finals. Andrzej Kowalewski won the men’s open final 6‑3 over Yoann Bara, with Krzysztof Mentlik taking third place. The ceremony was attended by the city’s vice‑president and the head of municipal infrastructure.
The same day the Pleszew Tennis Association, in partnership with the local Bank Spółdzielczy, held its annual “President’s Cup” tournament. Events were run in an open category and a 50‑plus seniors category. Jacek Piróg from Jarocin claimed the open title, while Piotr Jaros from Zduńska Wola won the seniors division. Participants came from Pleszew and surrounding towns such as Poznań, Rawicz and Złotoryja, and prize‑winners received trophies and financial gifts from the bank.
