Osaka Castle hosts SINFONIA to mark 160 years of Japan-Italy relations
The SINFONIA project, a commemorative program marking the 160th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Japan and Italy, is being held at Osaka Castle from October 15 to October 25, 2026.
To mark the occasion, a lighting ceremony was held on October 14 featuring Bulgari ambassador Ren Meguro. The event was attended by Osaka Mayor Hideyuki Yokoyama and the Italian Ambassador to Japan, Mario Andrea Vattani. Bulgari is participating as a sponsor and member of the project's executive committee.
The project utilizes projection mapping on the south side of the Osaka Castle main tower to tell a story of light, music, and imagery that connects the history of both nations, dating back to the 16th century and the 1866 Treaty of Amity and Commerce. The displays are scheduled to run several times daily between 19:00 and 22:00.
