Osaka police raid club and arrest nine Vietnamese nationals

Osaka Prefectural Police conducted a raid on the ‘68k-club’ in the Minami district of Osaka on August 30, investigating suspected violations of the Narcotics Control Law. During the search, authorities seized powders suspected to be illegal drugs.

The investigation follows an incident in May, when a Vietnamese man in his 20s was found collapsed in front of the club and later died from cardiac arrest caused by drug intoxication.

As a result of the raid, police arrested nine Vietnamese nationals, aged 20 to 33, on suspicion of violating the Immigration Control and Refugee Recognition Act for residing in Japan without updated residency status. One individual was also suspected of presenting a residence card belonging to another person. Police are continuing to investigate the club's potential involvement in the drug-related activities.
