Osaka Prefecture signs comprehensive partnership agreement with Google

Osaka Prefecture has signed a comprehensive partnership agreement with Google LLC to accelerate regional growth through digital technology. The collaboration focuses on five key areas: industrial and small-to-medium enterprise (SME) promotion, regional revitalization and urban planning, children and education, employment, and welfare.

Under the agreement, Google will leverage its expertise in data, artificial intelligence, and cloud technology to support the prefecture. Specific initiatives include supporting international startups, providing mentoring and skill-up programs for SMEs, enhancing administrative service foundations, and improving educational opportunities through digital tools.

Osaka Governor Hirofumi Yoshimura noted that the partnership aims to utilize Google’s high-level digital capabilities to realize the goal of making Osaka a central hub for a multi-polar economic zone. Google Vice President Yael Maguire stated that the agreement represents a long-term investment in the people and future of Osaka, aiming to provide solutions that contribute directly to the lives of its residents.
