Osan Air Base trespass: 3 students referred to prosecution
Three members of the Korea Progressive Students Federation (Daejinyeon) have been referred to the prosecution after being arrested for unauthorized entry into Osan Air Base (K-55) in Pyeongtaek, South Korea.
On October 4, a group of eight individuals—four men and four women—entered the military installation through the main gate without permission. During the incident, the group reportedly shouted slogans such as “Destroy the U.S. 7th Air Force that interferes with Honam semiconductors” while filming the scene.
The U.S. military apprehended the group as flagrant offenders and handed them over to South Korean police. Following an investigation into violations of the Military Bases and Installations Protection Act and joint trespass, a court issued arrest warrants for three of the participants. Police are continuing investigations into the remaining five individuals, who are currently being questioned without detention. All suspects have reportedly exercised their right to remain silent.
