osapiens acquires Nasdaq Metrio to expand ESG software capabilities

German company osapiens has acquired Nasdaq Metrio, a platform specializing in non-financial reporting and carbon accounting. The move is intended to strengthen osapiens' position in the North American market and enhance its AI-driven capabilities for ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) disclosure and supply chain intelligence.

Nasdaq Metrio is recognized for its compliance with various international frameworks, including CDP, GRI, IFRS, SASB, and California’s climate disclosure laws. By integrating Metrio into the osapiens HUB, the company aims to allow clients to automate data collection and reduce the manual workload associated with multi-jurisdictional regulatory compliance.

osapiens, which recently achieved unicorn status with backing from BlackRock and Temasek’s Decarbonization Partners, currently serves over 2,500 organizations. The acquisition is expected to streamline carbon accounting and improve supplier engagement through integrated, end-to-end sustainability solutions.
