Osasco launches Monitora OZ to expand surveillance network

The city of Osasco has launched the Monitora OZ platform, a technological initiative aimed at enhancing public security. The program allows for the integration of camera feeds from private entities—including companies, condominiums, schools, and residences—into the city’s Integrated Operations Center (COI).

Currently, Osasco has 3,105 cameras integrated into the COI. The municipal government has set a target to reach 10,000 cameras by the end of 2026. Participation in the program is free for private owners, provided the cameras monitor public areas and are connected to the internet. The system is also integrated with the state government’s Muralha Paulista and the Ministry of Justice’s Córtex information system.

Mayor Gerson Pessoa stated that the expanded monitoring network is intended to assist in combating crime, locating missing persons, and responding to traffic accidents.
