Osasuna reappoints Jagoba Arrasate after sacking Luis Miguel Ramis

Spanish football club Osasuna has dismissed first-team coach Luis Miguel Ramis following a poor start to the 2026/27 La Liga season. Ramis was let go after just eight matches, during which the team secured only two victories, two draws, and suffered four defeats, leaving them in 16th place with eight points. The decision followed a heavy 5-2 loss against Real Betis.

To replace him, Osasuna has reappointed Jagoba Arrasate, who previously managed the club from 2018 to 2024. Arrasate, who led the team to a Copa del Rey final and European qualification during his first tenure, has signed a contract running until June 30, 2029. He will be supported by assistant coach Bittor Alkiza and a technical staff that includes former player Darko Brasanac, who is transitioning from his playing career to coaching.

Club sporting director Cata Prieto stated that the decision was made to improve team performance and connection with the fans, noting that the squad had fallen short of expected standards. Arrasate expressed his commitment to the club, stating, “I feel that Osasuna needs me and I can help Osasuna.”
