Osasuna completes €4 million signing of striker Jonathan Dubasin

Osasuna have secured the services of 25‑year‑old forward Jonathan Dubasin from Sporting de Gijón on a contract running until 30 June 2030. The Navarrese club paid a fixed €4 million transfer fee, with additional variables linked to his continued presence in La Liga and a €40 million release clause.

Dubasin arrived after scoring 17 goals and providing four assists in the 2024‑25 Segunda División season, earning a reputation for speed and versatility across the front line. The move is Osasuna’s marquee summer acquisition, intended to bolster their attacking options under manager Luis Miguel Ramis. Outside of football, Dubasin is known by the nickname “the penguin,” a moniker that originated from a personal joke with his partner and was later reinforced by his goal‑celebration mimicking a penguin’s walk and wing‑flap, a gesture embraced by fans at his former clubs.
